Head Forester - Jim Mortlock retires after over 50 years of dedicated and loyal service

Jim & Tommy

Today, after over 50 years of dedicated and loyal service, saw the retirement of Jim Mortlock as Head Forester on the Estate. During his retirement presentation, our Estates Director commented “Jim has clearly been an inspiration and role model to us all. Your achievements over the past 50 years will be enjoyed by everyone for a very long time. The many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of trees planted under your watch will be your legacy. Your work with Lord Normanby in carrying on the great work of Humphrey Repton in designing the landscape around the Castle and maintaining Mulgrave Woods for public enjoyment are just two examples of the great contributions you have made to this Estate”. We would like to thank Jim for his 50 years of service and wish him a very long and happy retirement.

Today we also welcome Tommy Milburn as our new Head Forester, who now has the keys to Mulgrave Woods and has some very big boots to fill.
