13 July 2026

The current committee are retiring at the end of the year and so are looking for new people to take over. The current business is run by a loyal team of volunteers and paid staff. The shop is lovely – it has a Post Office and a beautiful tea garden with a food preparation hut. It also has a well-equipped indoor kitchen and a good storage room/office area.
"We have wonderful supportive customers and the shop is a hub where people can meet neighbours who they would not otherwise see very often. We also support older people who can’t make it to the shop.
We are looking for keen volunteers to form a committee and and/or assist in the practical running of the shop. We could offer training in all aspects of the business. People with financial, retail, building/maintenance and volunteering experience would be particularly helpful.
This is an opportunity for anyone who:
- - Would like to get practical experience of running a community business
- - Has some spare time and is looking for ways to support a local community
- - Would like to use their skills in a rewarding local project
- - Feels strongly about good locally-sourced food being made available to local communities
Anyone interested – please contact Pen Cruz, Ann Taylor, Laura Dunn on 01947 893983."
A meeting will be held on Tuesday 28th July at 7pm in Lythe Village Hall. Come along if you are interested to find out more.
