Vancouver cottage is an idyllic stone built detached cottage, originally converted from 3 smaller cottages perfectly positioned in the exclusive tranquil location of the valley Sandsend, elevated behind St Mary’s church. This charming cottage has been lovingly restored and tastefully designed to provide substantial luxury accommodation for all ages and is simply oozing with period charm while boasting modern luxuries.
Vancouver cottage offers accommodation for up to 9 people.
The spacious kitchen/diner benefits from an Aga, separate gas/electric cooker with hand-finished units and granite work tops. Separate utility room and laundry store. Ground floor, walk in wet room and downstairs cloakroom. The lounge has ample comfortable seating and a cosy log fire for cooler evenings.
All bedrooms are located on the first floor. A spacious king size master bedroom, a family bedroom with a double bed, single and a truckle bed. A second king size bed bedroom and a twin bedroom. All bedrooms have comfortable beds and are finished with crisp, white bed linen. Two spacious bathrooms, one featuring a stunning, free standing roll top bath.
Outside the holiday cottage has a private garden area with a patio, BBQ area and hot tub. This idyllic cottage is ideal for a luxury romantic retreat or a family getaway with something to offer for all the family. Pet friendly, with parking for two / three cars available.

Vancouver Cottage is a large, detached cottage.

Entrance via side/ back door:

Utility Room: Coat hanging and shoe store area. Built in bench seat. Two washing machines, tumble dryer. Base units, work tops and a washing area. Ample storage / drying space for wet clothing and boots/shoes. Large walk-in cupboard housing Iron, ironing board & airier. Cushions for the sun loungers can be found here.

Lounge: Spacious living area with two large sofas and matching chairs. Open fire (Kindling, logs and coal provided) Large TV, DVD player (DVDs not supplied) TV with full Sky programs. Stripped wood flooring with large persian centre rug.

Entrance Hallway / Extra dining area: Dining table and chairs, occasional chairs, sideboard, standard lamp. Gas coal effect fire.

Cloak Room: Toilet and washbasin.

Storage cupboard: Walk in in spacious cupboard, ideal for coats and shoes. Highchair stored here.

Kitchen /Diner: Large ‘L’ shaped room, vast range of wall and base units, drawers along with beautiful granite work tops. Aga, Electric oven with a gas hob, microwave, large larder style fridge/freezer. Coffee machine. Dishwasher. Large dining table and chairs. 2 sofas. TV and radio. Stripped wooden floor.

Rear Entrance Hall: Walk in wet room.

Bathroom: Bright spacious room. Free standing roll top bath with handheld shower. Bespoke, twin vanity unit with marble washbasins, cabinet, mirror, toilet, and heated towel rail. Cushion flooring.

Wi-Fi: Unlimited WiFi available.

Pets: Two dogs welcome, £8 per pet per night.

Garden: Spacious private garden area with a paved patio and BBQ area and hot tub. Lawned area to the front and far side. Large picnic bench, wooden sun loungers. 2 wooden benches at the front of the property. Large wooden shed with log and separate bin store.

Parking: Ample parking for 3 cars

Heating: Gas central heating, under floor heating, open fire, and gas effect fire. Logs and kindling are provided.

Short breaks: Available from 4^th October – 3^rd April  (excluding school holidays)

TV: Please note that since the Bilsdale TV mast burned down in August 2021, parts of the Sandsend / Whitby area now do not receive a terrestial signal with any consistency and in some cases, not at all. In all Mulgrave Estate holiday cottages you will find smart TVs and we would ask that you utilise the likes of BBC Iplayer to watch both live TV and of course, to access catch up.
